![]() ![]() I was clueless of what I was buying and getting into when I made my first production purchase (FL Studio 8XXL & my Akai MPK 49). I asked for some help, if you think im not going to be able to find some online materials that will help me, then thanks thats all you have to say. Im not sure I asked how I I should be spending my money anyways. Lets say I have alot of money to blow right now, sales have been good, and I have been saving up. But i'd like to get a GOOD grasp of the criteria most mastering engineers know. Yea, maybe your right though, Ill never be a mastering engineer. Lol.not the exact answer I was looking for, but thanks for the Mixing reference. That will take you much further than asking about how to use illegal software. Go to PUREMIX and actually invest in some knowledge. No one buys it without knowing how to use it already. Either you stole it or you have more money than sense. ![]() So don't come here asking advice about the Mercury bundle. 99% of all professional mixing and mastering can be done with those things. Here is the best advice, go out and BUY a decent eq, compressor, reverb, and limiter and learn them perfect. The Mercury bundle is for fixing very specific problems that rarely happen. Not asking about the biggest waste of money. Otherwise you would be in school or interning at a studio. Let's face it, you will never be a mastering engineer. It takes years and years of knowledge and work. You will not be a mastering engineer just because you learn how to use the Mercury Bundle. Some of the plugins you would probably use about 1% of the time. Why do you want to master the Waves plugs anyways? They are specialist tools for career engineers. Why would you "spend" $7,000 on something you have no clue how to use. Its overwhelming to think that different compressors and reverbs have small characters that make them different than other similar compressors and reverbs. I know Waves official site has a broad and general list of introductory tutorials regarding some of the plugins included in their packages, but I want to dig deeper than this. Any book, tutorial, series, or courses you guys recommend is appreciated. Are there any tutorials or books that help in learning exactly what these plugins do and how to use them? Are there any online courses? Im already a full time university student, we don't have many music engineering courses that aren't exclusive to grad students. I am semi familiar with alot of the tools as they are universal, but I want to master the Waves bundle as far as mastering my projects go. How should I go about learning Waves Bundles? It seems kind of overwhelming since there are so many plugins that come in the package. I am starting to really get into mastering and want to master it as a practice. I made a similar post to this in the tutorials section, but wanted to ask members around this part of the forum for their advice as well. ![]()
